adding a .aiff file to itunes library

Using Audacity, I exported a .aiff file to a location on my hard drive. For creating a CD, the online FAQ for Audacity only says to use another application like itunes.

I tried to use "add to Library" on the .aiff files but it doesn't look like they are being added. No error appears. I just don't see them anywhere. I want to make a playlist containing a few .aiff files then burn it to a CD but I can't even import the files to my Library. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I just learned that Audacity (a free downloadable audio editing application) has options for what specific format of file to export. Apparently there are more than one kind of .aiff file! I chose 32bit float (which is a variable type in many programming languages that allow "decimal" numbers to be represented in binary) thinking that will have the finest resolution of conversion but itunes only accepts 16bit .aiff files. All I had to do is change the export file settings in Audacity and drag and drop like you said and all is well.

Thanks again!
