XServe RAID degraded
Hi everybody,
I'm hoping someone out there can help me with an XServe I have set up where the RAID keeps 'degrading. It's a Dual 2 GHz G5 with 2x250GB drives which I have mirrored using DiskUtil. Originally I booted the XServe up in Firewire mode and installed 10.3 on it after using DiskUtil to mirror the drives. Server Monitor reported the RAID as being degraded after 3 or 4 days, so using the diskutil command line from the terminal I repaired the raid, and rebuilt it overnight, came in the next day and the RAID degraded after about 12 hours.
This time I initialized both disks and reinstalled from a back up, same thing after a week. I initialized the disk a second time and clean installed 10.4, now after two weeks, the RAID has degraded again.
Can anyone out there tell me whether I might be doing something wrong? I'm beginning to suspect one of the drives might faulty, but I don't have enough experience with XServes to tell.
Any clues or hints would be greatly appreciated
cheers
