I use address book on my Mac, however when I try to sync contacts on my iphone it doesn't take into account changes made in address book, and now that I look the two contacts look quite different. Then I did the option of syncing over ' replacing iphone contacts, but this had no effect. I've restored as well, but nothing works. This is definately not my first issue with contacts.

Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the sync history on your Mac?

If not, this is done on a Mac with iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.

If launched, quit iTunes, the Address Book, and iCal on your Mac.

Launch iSync and go to iSync preferences. It may take several seconds for the reset sync history button to become available. After it does and you select it, restart your Mac and test if this resolves the problem.

Hi thanks for that, but it didn't work. I also tried setting up a new group, ut that won't sync over as well.

    Any more ideas?

I'm running a different system, but I did reset my sync data, then rebooted, then reset it again and it worked the second time.. Try that. It's worth the ten minutes that it takes. Hope it works for you.

I'm having the same problem. I did so many changes on my 3G iPhone and then synced it to iTunes on my iMac computer at another home and realized when I was on the road that all of my edited work did not sync or merge. Now what do I do? I have no idea what to do. I checked my mobileme address book and none of the changes are there either. For some reason, iTunes acted like this was the first time I synced and backed up iPhone and it took forever. It also got stuck in Verifying which calendar event was correct. Where are the backup files kept for the iPhone? Thx

If your using MobileMe then it won't sync calendars/contacts when connected by USB to iTunes it does it all "over the air" check your sync settings. Where the changes you made on the iPhone end or the iMac end?

I am not syncing to Mobileme. I have that unchecked. I have been syncing for a long time and all of a sudden, it acted like it was a first time, backed up forever and then 6 hours of work - gone. Is there a way to restore from backup? I found the Mobile Sync folder. How do you know which is the most current? Thx
