Accidentally deleted an ilok, which had the same name as my home. After I restarted the laptop, it would not accept my login password. So I decided to change the password at login, which prompt File Vault to ask for the Master password. Master password was accepted and I made changes to user/admin login password. When I tried to login got message about I needed to change my keychain. So I am stuck.
I tried using Leopard disk and reset password but it did the same as above. I am locked out HELP!!

if I understand you correctly you can actually log in but just need to change the keychain password? log in and start Keychain Access. change the keychain password to be the same as your new login password. to do that control-click on the "login" keychain and choose "change password".
Thanks V.K for responding. An Ilok is a USB devise that store licenses for Pro music software etc.
I can not get pass the start-up screen login. When I had changed the password and login, it does the NO shake. I think the laptop is confused as to where the home/admin/user is, since both the home and the Ilok, which is sparse image in the trash.
Please note I did not want to change the password;I Just had to do that since it did not recognized the original password anymore.
Thanks V.K for responding. I had meant to say that both my user home and the Ilok have the same name. The ilok image is in the trash.
Again, the Ilok is a USB device that store licenses for Pro music software, such as Pro Tools, and is similar to a dongle. Please Google Ilok for more info.
Any help would be appreciated. It seems I may need to use Terminal from the Leopard disk although I am not skilled or had any luck with Terminal in the past, nor know the proper command.
Here is what I have to resolve my issue. I have created a system administrator(root) user via 10.5 install DVD and was able to login as root user. Then I open system pref/user to reset password and I get this:
cssm
errcode_memoryerror
No clue as to what that mean, however I wondered if one can zap the PRAM in Leopard? if so how?
Also as root user, I thought I would be able to see all files. The folder is very small and when I had opened it, all that was there is library/keychain/login.keychain. I put the login.keychain in the trash. The user folder should have been a few gigabits.
As I had suspected, my previous home directory is in the trash. I had remembered seeing "SparceBungle" in the trash. It's a good thing I did not emptied trash as I have made a backup of my Macbook Pro, since I got it last December. The lesson I am learning is make regular backup.
Now, the task is to restore the "SparceBungle". VK had suggested else where in the Forum to use Disk Utility to repair it, which is good. However, I need to copy the content of the trash folder first.
Does anyone knows the command in Terminal that will allow me to save the contents in trash?

Well, I have recovered my home directory using Terminal, but most importantly, I have recovered all sensitive business documents, Thanks to the Great Spirit.
I will order an external hard-drive later and begin doing backups every three days.
I will also install Leopard again, hoping to recover user. If unable to do so, I will do a clean install. Thanks to all for helping.
