Battery issues after carrier update

Hello,

Has anyone else had a serious increase in battery drain since the last carrier update?
Both myself and another iphone user I work with have noticed that the battery now drains in a matter of hours just sitting on the table not even being used. We both noticed the problem RIGHT after the AT&T carrier settings update a few weeks ago.

The interesting thing, that I've noticed, is that the battery seems to drain at the same pace whether the phone's being used or not. If I spend several hours traveling and sitting on conference calls. It doesn't seem like the battery drains any faster. It's even worse with wi-fi turned on......

Before the update, we were both getting fairly decent battery life.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Todd.

Yes. My battery use has fallen dramatically ever since the recent carrier update (along with my signal at my house). Something is definitely wrong here. AT&T was no help. Said they had known network issues (said in response to my claim of poor coverage). But, for both to happen right after the carrier update, seems to clearly point to the update. My phone sat all day, as I was at my house and talked on my landline all day. Didn't even listen to music on my iPhone. And, I just received the 20% low battery warning. Again, something is really wrong. I will start troubleshooting and seeing if I can restore the old carrier settings.

Anyone happen to know how to restore the prior carrier settings?

I have also noticed a significant decrease in battery life, regardless of my usage of 3G, Wi-Fi, Location Svc, BlueTooth, PUSH on MS Exchange server, GPS, etc.

Cannot say that we all share the same network connection signals, but in the past couple of months I have noticed much improved signal strength and availability when I do access 3G towers. Therefore, I can only assume that our AT&T carrier has somehow tweaked our signal... which could interpret to an increased drain on our battery life? or, the iPhone is having to expend more battery life to connect to a tower with a better signal which is farther away?

Let's face it folks, with the good news of some new "features" coming our way this summer with R3.0, the trade-off "may be" further impact on our battery life?
