When i click OK to get by the message, i am able to see my iPhone and it appears that i can synchronize with it. However, one thing that i have noticed is that the backup is failing. In the ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup folder, there are several folders that are named using the UDID of my iPhone. If i delete all the folders, and i force iTunes to perform a backup, it should recreate a folder using my iphone's UDID as its name and it should populate the folder with backup information from my iphone, with files ending with .mdbackup, .mddata and .mdinfo. However, when i force a backup in iTunes, only the folder and a file called Info.plist is created. I do not see a Manifest.plist, Status.plist or any of the .mdbackup, .mddata,. mdinfo files. The Console log generates similar error messages as shown above when i tried to backup my iPhone.
These are what i have tried unsuccessfully so far:
- Uninstall iTunes, clean up all iTunes related preferences file, /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext and /Library/Receipts/AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg.
- Restart Mac Pro
- Reinstall iTunes (8.1)
