Canon MX310 Drivers for 10.4.x

Can anyone point me to the correct drivers? I tried the generics but even though they make the printer function, the ink does not print anything.

The printers copy function works so I know the ink (new) is working fine. Thanks.

There are two versions of the drivers and one of the scanner there. On the Eu site there was a specific one for 10.5 and I'm looking for 10.4.11 so I'm not sure about which to take, because it gives no clue.

MX310 series Printer Driver Ver. 10.1.2.0 (Mac OS X CUPS)
mx310sosxcp10120ej7.dmg
8.83 MB
08/27/2008

MX310 series Printer Driver Ver. 6.9.3 (Mac OS X)
mx310sosxpd693ej7.dmg
6.60 MB
03/25/2008

MX310 series Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.0 (Mac OS X)
mx310sosxsd1390ej7.dmg
13.9.0
6.76 MB

Also, is the firmware for the printer or the OS? I'm a little hesitant to update firmware.
I'm going back to the Eu site and compare, because they had specific OS X versions for the different drivers listed. I was just concerned that it was not US stuff, even though they allowed you to choose 'English'.

The confusing thing is, it says .dmg so you think you're getting a download, but after clicking I see it just says both are for 10.5
Hmmmmm.

Printer companies are horrible -- I remember for years people trying to install Epson were stymied because the uncompressed file message was 'installed' when it was not.. they still had to open the app and install it! One man spent 3 days on this before finally calling me. Epson never fixed that.

The specification says the printer works with OSX 2.8 through to Leopard. You're right, the download driver versions are for Leopard and the specifications page has a footnote saying the Leopard version drivers are available for download. By this I also assume the other versions are on the CD that was included with the printer. I had a similar experience to this with a second hand camera which had no CD and in the end I never got the supporting software. I would call Canon about this. With the camera (Canon) the best they could do was offer to put me in touch with a department that might be able to burn me a CD with the correct software (for a fee), which I never had done. Of course if you have the original CD then just look on there.

I do not have the CD that came with the printer, as it was one that was in this current office where I work.

I guess now the question is, should I use the EU versions that clearly state they are for OS X.4.11

Or should I assume the 10.5 drivers are all inclusive?

Call me cautious but I can't afford troubles.
