Processor upgrade for Macbook Pro

I'm preparing to buy the 17" Macbook Pro. I'm wondering about the option to upgrade the processor from the standard 2.66 MHz to the optional 2.93 MHz.

Is there a noticeable difference in the two in day to day use? Is it really only relevant if I'm going to be doing HEAVY video/photo editing? Will it impact battery performance? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the extra $300 or not.

If anyone out there has one or has experienced the difference (or just knows some good information/feedback), I'd sure appreciate it. I'm pretty excited about making the switch to Apple. Lord knows I love my iPhone.

Thanks.

In my view, the difference is minimal. If cost is an issue, you will be more than well off with the 2.66 GHz option. If cost is not an issue, go for all the bells and whistles.

I am also of the view that you would experience better battery life and less heat with the 2.66 GHz model.

Good luck!
