iPhone Charging while talking Problem

You know how on other cell phones, when u talk on the phone and have the phone on the charger at the same time, it still charges the phone? Well on my iPhone 3G, when your talking on the phone, and you have the phone in the charger, it still depletes the battery and eventually the battery will die, even if the phone was in the charger and it cuts my calls off and its annoying to have to wait till it charges a while before I can use it....have you guys noticed this? Apple can u fix this!!

Ok i checked my iPhone, it definitely charges while talking from the wall socket, i did find however that when charging from USB it will charge while talking using a high power USB2.0 port but doesn't seem to get enough power out of a standard low power USB1.0 port (bit like my EXT HDD it needs to be plugged into wither one USB2.0 or two USB1.0 sockets, guess the power drain is too much.
Overall though i guess what i'm saying is get the iPhone checked it doesn't seem right

Yes - the exact same issue is happening to me. I thought it was just since 3.0 update but I can't be sure. I don't recall it happening before 3.0.

I'm plugged into a USB 2.0 port and, while talking, my battery depletes until I'm disconnected. The charging indicator says its charging, but when I look at the iTunes battery icon, it shows charging but the battery level slowly goes down.

Very bad when I'm on a business call and get disconnected... can't reconnect until the battery charges.

I was talking to someone - the 20% indicator beeped at me - I plugged it in. It beeped as when you are changing power sources from battery to wall cable as if it were charging.

I looked at the battery icon - it changed to the lightning symbol. The other end of the cable was plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port on my computer - not keyboard - not monitor.

I was in mid-sentence and I heard a click/ pop. Looked at the Screen and the circular progress thing was spinning then shut off.

Same problem here. My phone didn't start doing this until I upgraded to 3.0. My chargers and phone are all the same. It will charge for about 10 minutes on the car charger and then the battery icon changes to the plug symbol and then the battery dies. The same happens when plugged into my laptop's USB port. If I unplug the cable from the phone and plug it back in, sometimes it will reset and begin charging again.

One of the things I bragged most about when i bought my iPhone was how I can talk on the phone and charge it at the same time. Not like some HTC Windows Mobile phones I had in the past. Up until recently, I would get out of work and my battery on my iphone would be low. I would get in my car plug into my charger, talk on my phone for about a 45 minutes while on my bluetooth and when I got home, my battery would be fully charged. Now that is not the case anymore. Could it be the 3.0 firmware that might be causing this? It can get really annoying sometimes..
