iPhone not working - The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear t

I have purchased iPhone from local market, it was given to me without any SIM.

I have downloaded new version of iTunes 8.0.2 , installed it on my PC. I attached my iPhone to computer and update it with new software (iTune 2.2.1 i think) via iTune 8.0.2 software .... After installation iPhone works well for about 10-15 minutes. Later it don't close any application while pressing button on it. I decided to restore it so it may work with older itune version. When i restored backup... it say 'The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported' ... whereas the same SIM was working ....

What should i do now ?

Core 2 Duo, Windows XP Pro, Intel 2GB RAM

The iphone does not appear to be available in Pakistan, so you may have purchased a fake or a hacked iphone. Legit iphones are sold by authorized carriers, not the local market - at least as a rule.

Here in Pakistan there are many authorize resellers of Apple. The iPhone was in original packing of Apple, it was not opened or used phone.

According to Apples website the iphone is not available at all in Pakistan. If this is the case then there are NO authorized sellers in Pakistan at all.

Fake iphones come in new packaging as well.

I guess if the phone has a warranty it's legit, if not, fake I'm afraid.

By the way, I'm interested to know what the 3G coverage is like in Islamabad? Are there many Wifi spots about? What about in Mirpur? I guess it's very little 3G coverage there? I'm coming to Pak hopefully in November, what will the weather be like?
