isync and yahoo contacts

You do not invoke this option in the Preferences dialog in iSync.

Rather, you do so in the Preferences dialog in the Address Book itself under Mac OS X 10.5 or later, simply by checking or enabling the Synchronize with Yahoo! and using the Configure button adjacent to that label to control how you interact with your Yahoo! account.

Along side the *Synchronize with Yahoo!* checkbox there is a button labelled Yahoo...

Click this, agree to the terms, then enter your *Yahoo! ID* and Password.

How can I sync my Yahoo! contacts to the Mac address book?


First, check to make sure you're running Mac OS X 10.5 ("Leopard") or higher. To check what version of Mac OS X you've got, click the Apple menu and select About This Mac. Only Mac OS X 10.5 or higher support the Yahoo! Address Book sync feature.
Open your Mac's Address Book application. From the Address Book menu, select Preferences...
Check "Synchronize with Yahoo!". Click Agree on the terms of service. Then enter your Yahoo! ID and password.
Open iSync. Click the iSync menu and select Preferences.... Ensure the checkboxes for "Enable syncing on this computer" and "Show status in menu bar" are checked.
A sync icon will appear in the menu bar (it looks like two arrows in a circle). Click the icon, then click Sync Now.
For the first sync, you may either merge the data on your computer with Yahoo! Address Book, or replace the contacts on your computer with the data from the Yahoo! Address Book. Choose the option you prefer, then click Sync.
For subsequent syncs, just click Sync Now from the sync m

I followed all the instructions above and nothing happened.

BUT then I noticed a sync logo on my top bar where the date is shown. I clicked it and a whole different box popped up and allowed me to sync (in my case backup my address book info. to Yahoo) with Yahoo.

Don't remember how I got the sync icon on the top bar but it allowed this whole process of syncing with Yahoo.

Thanks to the previous poster. The sync icon does show up next to the date. The isync is not used for yahoo sync anymore.
