Cannot pair microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000

Have been trying to pair microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 in Leopard 10.5.6 in a Macbook, the latest Mac Mini & a G4 mini to no avail, all have failed to be paired in the very last step of the bluetooth step up, but were able to do so in boot camp windows, so it should not be the problem with the bluetooth, anyone can help? thanx.....

As it fails to pair with 3 different Macs, but works ok with Windows, have you tried contacting Microsoft to see if there are any known Mac compatibility issues?

Do other Bluetooth devices pair ok with the same 3 Macs? If they do, then obviously the Mouse doesn't like something to do with Mac OS X 10.5.6's Bluetooth implementation.

Hi, I tried all the tricks listed here with no luck, but I think I've finally found the solution.

Try using "any device" option, then, when the assistant tries to pair with the device, there's a button called "passkey options", click it and then select the option "Don't use a passkey".

The mouse will pair successfully. Mine is working great on my iMac.
