1. What is the best, most efficient and easiest way to get the music files into garageband and edit them?
I agree with iSteveus. When I bring files off of my flash recorder and into GB or another DAW, I first drag them onto my mac, and then into GB. As Christoph mentioned, that does create 2 copies - the raw one on your desktop, and the one that resides, somewhat hidden, within GB. However, I'm much more comfortable having an independent copy of the raw audio file I can always go back to, and start fresh from if I want to re-import it into GB or another editor down the road. It also makes it easy to organize, archive, and backup your original recordings.
2. Which quality of recording should you choose in the H2 for good quality once imported into Garageband.
Whatever is highest quality in the H2 that's also compatible with GB. For example, if the H2 can record at 44.1/24 bit, then I'd record at that.
3. What, if any, is the function of itunes in the importing process.
None. I'd keep your raw audio files in a separate folder where you can access them without the interloper of another application. If you want to hear them, it's always easy to open them up in Quicktime, or listen to them in the Finder.
4. In short how do you make the process as quick and easy as possible with great results?
Record high quality files. Drag files from flash recorder to desktop. Drag files from desktop to GB. Do as little as possible with your raw files in GB as possible so they retain maximum fidelity from the original recording.
