PPT MOV file not playing

Question

PPT MOV file not playing

I am working on a project in iMovie and I want part of the section to be a presentation created in PowerPoint.

I have managed to export the PPT as a MOV at the correct screen res but when I play the film the PPT MOV doesn't play - I just get a black screen.

(The rest of the iMovie (the soundtrack) does continue to play).

What am I doing wrong?

In Powerpoint, you need to export using QuickTIme to a supported format. I would assume you have done that already.

The other thing that can trip you up is if your video has extraneous tracks like chapter tracks or closed captioning tracks. In Powerpoint or Keynote, the culprit is likely to be a manual slide advance track. Set this option to timed slide advance, so there is no extra track, and your movie should import.

There are no options for "supported format".

The PPT is set to export using the files transition actions and these are all set to "after previous" etc.

The video does "animate" but all that happens is that each slide moves from one to another - all the transitions etc are lost.
