iWeb Publishing Whole Website...

Oh my word, every time I make a correction to my website it wants to upload the whole thing and NOT just the changes. What gives? I am running this under Mobile Me and it just started doing this BEFORE the update. Now that I have updated it... the thing continues to do this... Any thoughts as to why it has to publish the whole thing time and again rather then just the changes?

Thanks in advance... Jay

my guess is there is an apple/mobileMe/iWeb problem as this has recently happened to me. I called apple, they couldnt help and i even used ichat for 2 hours and they said it was my Mac, CLEARLY NOT!

Ive tried everything from deleting Plist to logging in and out of mobile me to re-syncing to using another user iweb and everything under the sun!!

Please sort it soon.

Here is my issue - I publish my website which is fine and it works. I then go to change something and it turns red again instead of BLUE and wants to publish the whole site again, I have 6 sites that are very big and I cannot do this all the time.

Hello Old Toad -

Out of curiosity I did use the menu option that you mention earlier today and it did go ahead and update the whole site after I had worked on just one page. Since then I've been having the same problem as many are reporting - successful publishing, blue pages, a change, everything goes red, and lately upload failures and error reports - perhaps not surprising if everybody is trying to republish entire sites all at once?

Incidentally, the publish site arrow at the bottom of the page gives the help message 'publish changes to the current site' if you leave the mouse pointer over it, which is how I remember it working in iWeb 08

You didn't have to publish that way before. When you made a change and hit the publish site button on the bottom it only used to publish the changes. Now its publishing everything. My blog is over 2 gigs of space and it takes hours to upload a new blog entry now because of it. Every photog in my studio uses iweb and they are having the same issue.

So what changed to make this happen?

Yes, I'm using the File-> Publish site changes.

In addition to plist deletion and permissions repair, I've also tried dumping the whole site off my mobielme account, and reloading the whole thing. But the next little change I make (one letter) causes all the pages to go red when I choose publish. Since the same software worked two days ago, I'm guessing its a mobileme issue.

same for me, 1 site on 1 domain.

I wonder whether this might be that people installed iWeb 09 at their own unsynchronised pace. Now a lot of people have installed the update, and are simultaneously republishing their sites, so all these problems are a sign of mobile me servers under strain - in which case things will sort themselves out? In the morning in the UK I was able to update single pages, in the afternoon when North America came on line and Europe still posting was when the problem started for me . . . Call me optimistic . . .

Is anybody not using mobile me hosting having these problems of red sites?
