Setup Roland RD700GX in Logic Studio Pro 8

I recently bought an RD700GX. I'm having loads of trouble setting up the RD as a multi instrument in Logic. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to control the RD with Logic? The problem I have is that after I record MIDI data in and play it back, I don't hear the selected tone playing. I just hear a dry GM piano. Even after I, supposedly, disabled the GM GX feature in the RD's utility mode.

I also tried creating custom bank messages in the Logic environment. I set the proper MSB/LSB (control 0, 32), and typed in the proper patch names in each created bank. Still. I couldn't select patches, or hear them, from Logic.

My RD is connected to my MIDIsport 2x4's IN and OUT jacks. My Audio MIDI set up on my CPU is accurate. I'm using a Novation X-station 25 as my audio interface.

Please help???

- Does the RD700 receive Midi when you select a tone/patch from the environment? Is there a Midi LED on the RD700 which indicates incoming midi messages?
If not, check the midi port settings of the multiinstrument in the environment and the midi receive settings of the RD700

If yes:
- Usually Roland Instruments do have something like a performance-mode or multimode. Make sure it is selected. Also create a multitimbral init-performance on your RD700 with all settings set to default (volume, effects etc.). When you start with another performance setting there may be some patches/channels disabled/muted ...
- Did you create the bank select messages according to the midi implementation chart (RD700 midi impl manual Page 1/control change)?

And sorry for this question: Did you create a midi track for external device in the arrange and is your RD700 selected on these tracks?
