Auto shut down after Time Machine backup?

Hi all,

Is it possible to autu shut down my Mac Book Pro after a Time machine backup. I want to make the backup at night and to acaoid the Mac to be running all night it would be nice to have it shut down after in finishes the back up.

Any ideas?

If you're letting TM run it's backups hourly, this shouldn't be an issue. Just shut down (or sleep) when you want. Even if you interrupt a backup, TM will catch up the next time.

If you're only running backups occasionally, like once a day, and they run more than a few minutes, then there's no easy way to do it.

You might be able to do something with Automator or perhaps Applescript, whereby you could register to receive an "event" when each backup finishes, then decide programmatically whether to shut down. But since the TM app itself isn't scriptable, and I don't see anything in SystemEvents, this is a long shot.
