Warranty for dust under screen?

I was told by an employee at the Apple Store that the warranty covers anything that happens to the phone that shouldn't. My phone has developed a small speck under the display and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether or not Apple will warranty it. It's not noticeable while on, but it annoys me when the screen is dark. Any thoughts?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 24" Intel Core2Duo

You can search other discussions on this site about this issue, but I am pretty sure I have read on here that they will replace the phone. Yep they would replace it, read the last post here:

If you do take it to an apple store to be replaced make sure to have it backed up to itunes on your mac or pc before you go, so if they replace it you can easily restore from it and get all your important info back on the new one.

This same issue happened to me while on vacation in Arizona. Dust got trapped underneath the screen. I made an appointment at a Genius Bar, and had a new phone 5 minutes later. Apple should replace your phone for this.

I read a story like this on MacRumors, the person did get his iPhone replaced but Apple was very hesitant to give him a new one.

You should be able to get a replacement if you are "friendly" to the Genius'. 🙂
