Nike plus and iPod touch any answers?

is their a solution to the iTouch and nike plus issue? I have seen many people saying they are having the same issue with the sensor either not being found at all or only working for a run or two or even is some instances working for a min and then saying your workout is done. I am basically having all of these issues.
I started by doing the turn off wifi, reboot the touch, reconnect the sensor etc..that worked for one run then on the second run lost the connection and could not find it again. I got a new sensor thinking this would fix the issue and this did nothing.
anyone have an answer?
thanks.

I can't help but I'm having exactly the same problem..I'm on my second sensor. The first one worked for one run then the sensor couldn't find it. The ipod touch won't even pick up the second one. I'm really frustrated with it..added to the fact that I can't find a shop in Ireland that sells them and I'm finding it very difficult to return the first sensor to them in case it is a problem with the sensor..this is ridiculous!!!!

Two common suggestions:

1. Reset network connections. This is under Settings > General > Reset.
2. Perform a full restore on your Touch.

I've had mine about a week and it died on me pretty quickly. I went to the Apple store and got a new sensor which did NOT help, so if a new sensor doesn't fix the issue, it's not a sensor issue (so a 3rd wouldn't fix it).

Mine is working again now; honestly I don't know what fixed it. I did both above things and NEITHER helped. I tried a couple more times to link, reboot iPod, reset stuff some more...and suddenly it worked. So I don't know exactly what fixed it. If you haven't tried the above steps, though, give them a try - I know they work for some people.

I got a Ipod Touch 2nd gen and had the same problem. What I did to fix it was:
1. Reset all settings.
2. Do not change in the Ipod Touch the weight units (should remain in pounds). I am in Europe hence tried to use Kg. after doing this change the Ipod would not recognize the sensor any longer. Only option to reset all settings again.
3. All other settings can be changed with no adverse effect to connectivity.

I have had a couple of runs and is still holding on OK
Good luck

I am having all of these problems as well. Have been using the Nike + sensor and it has been the best thing since sliced bread, then suddenly it was not calibrating correctly, I would run three miles, and it said I ran .99 ??
Then the sensor quit working. I only have 100 hours on the current sensor, but I bought a new sensor, and neither of them will work. the Ipod touch will not find them. I hope this new update coming out will fix this??

Had the same problems like so many folks here. Got a new sensor. No dection. A total mess.

This procedure solved the problem of the sensor dection issue for me:

1. Be sure that your iPodtouch is OFF !
2.Get your Nike shoes, walk and shift your weight from the left foot to your right foot and vice versa. I'm not kidding.
3. Start your iPodtouch
4. Go to settings and activate 'Nike +iPod'. !!! Do not pair the sensor!!!
5. Start your Nike application and choose your favourite training program.
6. In a few seconds my sensor is dected. Hope yours too.

I don't have problems with the sensor detection anymore. 100% success.

I've had the same problems and emailed Nike plus after only running about 50 hours with several cut outs and failures in getting the sensor to read. They replied quite promptly saying that some of the older models were sent out "turned on" hence the batteries were flat. I'm getting a new sensor out of them and I'd recommend anyone else does who has run less than 1000 hours.

The Nike + sensor comes powered on by default. This can drain the battery. When you are not using the sensor, turn it off by holding down the small button on the bottom for 3 seconds. Then when you need to use it, just push the button. The reason your iPods cannot find your sensors is because the batteries in your sensors are dead. You can order a replacement sensor here: http://tinyurl.com/ye3ojns

I have also had this problem. I restored my ipod, and started over from scratch. Worked for a run, then went back to not picking up the sensor, or picking it up and dropping it after a few minutes of running. I think I may have turned the sensor off for one of the runs on accident. But the next run I did at a gym and I think this time it may have had something to do with how many other ipods and nike+ sensor were being used around me. Though I don't know if that should really have any bearing on whether my ipod and sensor works.

I used mine for 3 days. On the 4th day, I started it like usual and did my warm up. I 'ended' the workout so I could stretch and then tried to start again about 10 minutes later. It wouldn't detect the sensor. I tried again the next day... nothing. I replaced the sensor thinking it was the problem. Still didn't work. I had purchased my wife an identical iTouch and tried hers. It worked. Go figure. Troubleshooting has determined that's it my iTouch. But what about it. I tried restoring the defaults, reseting as suggested above. What else can I do???

I having trouble with mine as well. What I have been doing that is working is plugging in my receiver to my touch. I then go through the set up to start my run. The touch will then give me an error to remove the receiver since it has a built in one. Once I disconnect that receiver, the built in one works and I can go for a run. Unfortunately, I have to do this every time but it's working.
