Creating a camera flash effect?

Is it possible to create a camera flash effect within iMovie.

Say, for example, I have a scene showing a group of people, and I want to simulate camera flashes going off. I can easily add the sound effects, but visually, how do I create the effect of camera flashes?

Thanks for any help

Create a white frame or two, and insert that in your sequence.

To create a white frame, there are several ways, e.g; use the Wash In or Wash Out transition on a piece of unwanted video: those end in white frames. Highlight a white frame and choose Edit>Create Still Frame (Shift AppleS). A Still Frame is 5 secs long by default. You can then slice it up to whatever duration you want, say 3 frames long.

There are simpler ways, involving choosing a colour (white) and assigning that to a blank clip ..but I can't remember exactly how to do that! ..So I just create a Wash In and use the last bit of that!
