Found iPod Mini (2nd Gen)

I have an off the wall question that I am hoping someone can help me out with. Today our home was broken into by some perps but thankfully nothing was stolen. Strangely enough we found an old silver second generation iPod Mini in the backyard close to where they broke in.

My question: Is there a way to determine the owner/computer/ip address that the iPod was last connected to by the iPod's S/N? The about section says the name is "Metalpod" and the S/N is * and model number M9801LL.

Any help is vastly appreciated.
