I've been a Mac users for 5 years and have never been able to figure this one out...so I thought it was about time I asked. When I'm in Safari and want to copy text that is linked...I first highlight the text...right click and thats where I get confused. There is NO option to copy text...only "Copy Link", "Download Link" etc...
1. Highlight the text (with a link).
2. Here is what I found: Do not right click the link directly. Instead, move the mouse off the link, now right click.

In the title of my reply, there is link to Joe: in response to: Joe Keith
His name is a link, 1) Highlight the link, all letters: Joe Keith 2)Move the mouse to the right until it became to Arrow again from the Hand (I mean mouse icon) 3)Right Click, now you see Copy
The problem with Control-Click (Right-Click) is the need to satisfy 2 masters. In this case Safari has choosen to favor Control-Click on a Link.
You could suggest via <http://www.apple.com/feedback> that maybe Safari merge the Control-Click Highlighted text pop-up with the Control-Click a Link pop-up.
Chris, I disagree. I just tried this with one of the replies above. I highlighted two paragraphs with the second one including the link. I dragged those highlighted sections to the desktop. I then dragged that desktop clipping in to Text Edit, where the two paragraphs, including the link were fully displayed.

Apart from the speech marks, that was the text clipping directly from my desktop.
