iTunes/Recent Update/iTunesx-8.1.dist file won’t install

I just recently installed the new itunes package using Software Update and the iTunes-8.1.dist file wouldn’t install.
Is it an important file?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Power G3 (Blue and White)/OS 9.2.2
