Q: Clipping Problem

Alright, So i've been having this problem and its pretty common. I've also read somewhere in these threads about someone with the same problem.
Whenever I do an impulse response, no matter how low, it always seems to clip after I deconvolve it. Here is a picture of an example impulse that I've done before deconvolving. Notice the low level:

Now here it is again after deconvolving with no editing whatsoever:

This happens a lot and i have no idea what could be wrong with it or if I am doing something wrong. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

Well, first I'd like to know what is up with the 2.7 peak listed in the first screenshot. How did it get that way?

Well the volume pot is dirty on the amp i was using and was crackling. It mostly likely got clipped right before i did the impulse.

The convolution process is cumulative, and that is why the peak is so much higher than your max level when you did the sweep. And I have definitely struggled to understand the best way of maximizing the signal to noise ratio without clipping, it seems to be hit or miss. A lot of low end makes it worse. One thing I have noticed is that even though it looks clipped, it isn't when I open the IR in another editor. Can you open the IR in something else to see if it's really clipped? Is the resulting SD preset working, or is it not coming out good?

Yes that is understandable. It varies quite a bit though. I've had very loud impulses that behave the same way as the quiet ones.
Seems like most behave the same way for me. Most likely user error on my part but I dont see why.
I dont have another editor besides that right now though. And actually, even though most are clipping in the beginning, I find that none of them have any audible distortion of any kind. They all sound great actually.
But it still concerns me as to why this is occurring.

I think the way the IR is displayed is incorrect, and that it probably is not actually clipped. I have only seen a couple that were clipped when viewed in another editor, and they were audibly bad IR's. A truly clipped IR will sound bad as a reverb. But for a number of reasons, I always save it as an SD preset and check it before moving on to the next sweep.

Yeah it seems like it's making itself out to be a graphical error of some sort. All of the reverbs sound fine. And its definitely a good idea to save you sweeps and deconvolve right after you capture it.
IRU has a nice bug, making deconvolving impossible 95% of the time when you save a sweep you've done and come back to it at a later time. I know I've read this elsewhere as others have experienced the same thing. I've only successfully accomplished this one time. But that is a whole other can of worms...

I've run into similar issues with IRU, so I'm presuming it's this.

Just a quick update. I've been doing some experimentation and it does seem to just be a graphical glitch, as it doesn't seem to adversely effect anything, and works fine on a separate computer.
