1080P 23.98fps to 1080i 29.97fps

I have a project that was shot 4k 23.98fps edited in 1080p 23.98fps. The client needs the final output in 1080i 59.94 quicktime. I take it that 59.94 is the equal to 29.97. Please let me know if I am wrong about that. My main question is, what is the process to take the 1080 23.98 and reconform to 1080 59.94 Quicktime for output. Is this as simple as sending to compressor with a 59.94 frame rate, or is there something more involved.

Thanks in advance for a speedy response to all the people with knowledge.

Not sure I'd use Compressor. It doesn't have the ability to actually insert pulldown (which is what you're want to do) and instead attempts to create new frames. That's great for slo-mos but not for this. Of course, if that's the only tool you have, hey, you gotta work with it.

If you have access to a recent version of After Effects, it should do a much better job at introducing 3:2 pulldown so that your footage runs at 29.97.

Not entirely sure about the conversion to 59.94 though (as I've never had to go that route myself with a digital file), hopefully this post will serve to bump this thread so you can get specific advice for that.

Hallo.
I have one question about using different HDV footage on the same timeline.
I own a SONY HDV-Z1E that shoots in 1080i/50.
Now I need a small camcorder for underwater shooting, like the SANYO Xacti HD 2000.
That camcorder shoots in 1080p/60, a different frame rate from my SONY.
Do you think I'll get in trouble mixing those formats on the same FCP timeline?
Will it be necessary to conform the footage before editing?
What would you suggest?

Thank you.
