How to stop auto numbering in word processor?

Thanks Peggy: I unchecked the automatic, but that did not stop the numbering. You helped me once before with this and My memory cells in my brain lost the sequence. You said the following:
"By default Pages has Automatically detect lists turned on in Preferences > Auto-Correction. When Pages detects you are creating a numbered list, it assigns the numbered list style. It will continue that style until you select None in the lists section of the styles drawer (or from the format bar)". I can no longer seem to find this NONE function. Can you point me again to the correct place?

Thank you Walt: You stated, "In the List menu"; There are several types of lists. That is true, however, in my tool bar, the drop done name is Choose a List Style. Confused me at first. But I clicked on it and the clicked on Numbered List and found None and clicked on it. Worked just fine. This time I will file your note in the appropriate folder so I can find out how to do it again.
