Sustain Pedal issues

Hi,

usually this problem is related to the keyboard / pedal combination and has nothing to do with Logic.
However, most Keyboards can somehow switch polarity. Either automatically (in this case, the keyboard checks the pedal's position when power is turned on and remembers this position as "sustain off") or by selecting it in a more or less hidden system menu (RTFM of your keyboard in this case).

Another way is to look at your sustain pedal: some of them come with a nice little - almost impossible to find - switch at the side or at the bottom which will invert the polarity, dissolving all of your trouble 🙂

Barring either of those two fixes, you could also take the thing apart, remove & resolder the leads to opposite lugs.

LOL, now that's a foolproof advise 😉 Big Weld has spoken. Another proof how often we people tend to think way too complicated.

I, personally, have learned the hard way that Casio keyboards are not polarity adjustable and do not have Mac drivers and will not interface with Mac. And they're not interested in changing. This is why I returned my Casio to the retail store.

If you know how to solder, it takes all of three minutes to do.
