Did the printer come with any disks? If so, one will probably contain the installer for the printing software. -

For the SE to use a printer, it needs to have the printing software for that model of printer.
The software for all Apple printers manufactured at the time of System 6.0.8 can be found on the System 6.0.8 installer diskettes. (This includes all ImageWriters and a few LaserWriters.) In fact, this software is installed by default if you did an easy install instead of a custom install.
The printing software for most other Apple printers can be downloaded here:

The software for non-Apple printers has to be installed with a separate installer. You can usually find this on a disk that comes with the printer. -
