Depends.

Every model of camera produces a different RAW format - note that’s model, not make. The NEF from a Nikon d40 is not the same as the NEF from a Nikon d60. So, it depends on what camera you are using.

Further, as RAW support is a function of the OS and not iPhoto, it also depends on the version of the OS you are running too.

This is true for every iPhoto since v5.

Would like to store RAW in IPhoto

Richard,
You can definitely store your RAW files in iPhoto, and iPhoto will immediately create a JPEG version of its own for each file. When looking at your images in iPhoto you will see iPhoto's rendering of the original RAW and will not see the effects of any edits you made in CS4 or other editors.

I'm not sure if this is important to you or not. If you want to use iPhoto as your final destination for photos after post processing you probably should save the images as JPEGs first before adding to iPhoto. Then you would see all your edits.
