How can I create Audio CD with separate tracks?

I recorded stereo track in Logic Express, divided it into separate segments (with two seconds of silence in between), added Markers on top of each segment, named those markers in hope that they'll be used to name those segments below them in the audio CD. Then clicked on File menu > Bounce… > selected Burn: CDDA > clicked "Burn" button. And to my surprise Logic burned audio CD with all segments together as one long audio track! Please help - I really need separate tracks on that CD!

Greetings!

Logic Pro comes with Waveburner, which is a full function CD burning package.

However, don't despair Bounce the tracks individually and use iTunes. It has lots of functions for nurning that are not commonly known. Check out the help file but don't expect complex cross fades, though you can do those in Logic Express quite happily.

If you're allergic to Tunes, you might try something like BurnX Free.

Hi.. I have a two questions that are, I guess, in a similar area...

I want to be able to produce a completed CD that I can then send off for mass duplication... I have been told that WAV files are not the same as Audio CD files (by that I mean the files that would be on a CD I have bought in a shop)... So I guess I shouldn't burn WAV fils onto the master CD. Neither, I know, are MP3s etc the right files to bounce into for a professional quality Audio CD.. But what files, that are available on LE8, should I burn onto my master CD?

Also.. The only way I can figure to produce the track by track finished album is to create an itunes playlist and tag all the info ( album title, track titles etc) there... However, if I play that CD on another system, such as Windows, all that tagged info is lost.

Can I overcome any of this? I would be happy to buy a separate CD burner prog if I need to.. But advice as to which one to get that would fulfil all of these requirements would also be a great help.

I hope this is all OK to ask in this thread..

Ta so much

Hi,
each and every CD is in the "red book standard", which is uncompressed PCM, 16 Bit at 44.1 kHz Samplerate. It doesn't matter if you use WAV, mp3, AIF or whatever as long as your burning program know how to convert all this fuzz into 44.1 16 bit, period.

But: Of course it is a bad idea to produce a professional CD from a mp3 file (cough, cough...), because mp3 means it has been truncated and compressed and sqeezed and stuffed to fit into only a few MB's. When it comes out, it will have creases all around 😉
So: Use WAV's, AIFF's, CAF's or whatever uncompressed PCM format you prefer. Logic *by default* first bounces every bounce into this format, then afterwards converts it into, let's say, mp3. If you want to give your Songs to a professional studio for mastering/burning and mass copying, leave everything as it is, maybe give them the Logic Project if they have Logic, or bounce a WAV *without dithering*

Personally, I couldn't live without toast titanium, for CDs, DVDs, Data archives, etc. toast allows you to set the pause between tracks to 2 seconds (0r 0!) I use 0 for live recordings where a whole set can play on a CD without interruption, but the separate tracks allow one to skip over the chat to the next song, etc.

My workflow is to bounce an entire set to an aiff at 16bit/44.1 ( I record at 24 bit 44.1 so do not dither). I then take the 40 to 70 minute typical stereo sound file into lemke's sound studio, place markers, then "split by markers". I'm sure there are other ways to do the splitting but the result is separate audio files which DO play seamlessly when burnt to CD with pause set to 0 seconds
