In excel where is the cents symbol?

Question

In excel where is the cents symbol?

In excel I can't get a cents symbol to appear. I know in word its apple 4. Can someone tell me how to do this? I tried help I cant find the Character Palette either.

Hi Sherry, it should be Option+4 not Apple+4 ! 😉

All cell formatting in Excel can be done by selecting Cells from the Format menu. However, only the $ sign is available for currency formats.

Apple and Command are the same key. Option (the same as Alt) is on a different key.

Sorry, the option button is staring me in the face next to the apple/spirograph symbol which I thought was an option key.

So.....I went up and selected general under number format, did the option 4 and there is my cents sign.
