hi, i am trying to uninstall macjanitor but it keeps telling me it is in use. its not in use. anyone have a idea of how i can turn it off so the computer realizes it is really off.
imac intel 17" 1.5g old version,

Have you tried force quitting the application? Another thing to do is open up the Activity Monitor and find the correct process for Macjanitor and select it and choose "Quit Process" and then see if that helps. Have you tried restarting the computer as well?
MacJanitor is just a stand alone application so it isn't "installed" per se. You just chuck it into the trash if you don't want it. So restart the computer and see if you can trash it after a restart. Patrick
thanks guys. i really feel dumb! turn it off hhhhmmmmm never even occured to me but it worked! i tried to quit/force quit but it really wasnt running but when i tried to throw it out it came up as in use. really strange but you all figured it out!
