how do i completely remove 'eBlaster for Mac' from my MacBook Pro? Someone got to my Pro, followed an IT person's instructions to reboot, create their own administrative account, install eBlaster, and now i'm at risk.

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Google "eblaster removal" and the links are all there.

I only find links to windows not to mac.

Can you give me a direct link please?

And i don't understand how a spyware like this can get on mac, i thought mac's were 100% secure.

    Thanks

Confront the perpetrators. Google "eblaster removal on a Mac" and see what comes up.

Seems like eBlaster is intended for use by parents...employers...hmmmm...

I can't find anything to remove it from a mac...

Yes it's for parents and spyers. It's spyware, simple.

I guess you missed the previous posters implication ---

If you yourself are a student, child, or employee who's parents or employer installed the software, then your not going to get answers here from anyone as to how to remove it.

"someone" getting your MBP sounds suspicious.

If in doubt, and you personally own the MBP, then you can do a system erase and reinstall as well as a last resort.

i'm a guy worried that some hacker is getting is sensitive info, understand now?

I just asked if someone knows how to detect it and erase it.

Does it show up on activity monitor? If the thing is for PCs it won't run on your mac.

On a Mac, software like this can only be installed with an admin password. If you keep physical control of your machine, and avoid downloading software from questionable sources then entering your password during installation, you have nothing to worry about.

Of course, now that it is on the computer, it is too late!

I wonder if he could do an erase and install, re-install his own software, and then restore data files?

I'm suspicious about how it got on there in the first place, in the case of the OP. Without going onto detail, for obvious reasons, the methods employed by the person who 'got to' the machine suggest that person has the legitimate ability/reason to install monitoring software.

KBrownDC please answer... We are waiting.

By the way, the program is for mac's also.

I don't have it, i just want to know how to remove it if someone get acess to my mac.

    Thanks.

My house is on fire! Oh, wait, no its not, I just want to know what to do when it does catch fire.

Kinda suspicious when the story changes midstream, eh?

Hence my post. If someone installed it there on purpose, then nobody here is going to direct you to help.

This is a 3rd party application that is NOT an Apple application.
