Sync Issues With iPod Shuffle

So I have the new 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle and I currently have it set to Sync only checked songs and play lists also I have it set to convert higher bitrate songs to 128 kbps AAC format.

So I have gone through and selected the songs and playlists I want on my shuffle and when I go to sync it the status bar says copying 10 of 500 to iPod etc then about 30 seconds later it says the iPod has completed its sync and it hasn't copied over more than about 10 of the tracks.

There are no error messages given at all. I have the latest version of iTunes along with the latest version of the iPod firmware/software. I also have an 8GB touch which has no issue with syncing with iTunes. They are never plugged into the system at the same time and iTunes also recognises them both as different devices with different settings so I know it isn't getting confused.

I have tried to restore the iPod but this doesn't remedy the situation nor does restarting my system. Im not too sure what else to do. Has anyone run into the same issue and what remedied this for you?

I have experienced the same problem. Itunes gives up after importing only a few of the songs. I want to try this option as others in this thread have said that AAC files will play back gapless.

I guess one could convert the files first and then upload them but then you would have duplicates of all those files.

BTW this also happened while using I was using my MacBook.
