I hate the new "Last Played" podcast behavior

It used to be that a podcast was marked new until I started to play it, but "last played" was not changed until I finished the podcast.

Now, as soon as I start playing the podcast in my car, 'last played' gets set, which makes it hard to tell if I finished a podcast.

Yo, Apple - please bring back the old behavior.
