Anyone have a digital photo frame as a secondary mini monitor....?....

I have been toying with the idea of have a small monitor for IM's or email application or a place to park your tool pallets for Illustrator or PhotoShop...

Does the frame actually have a live input? The ones I've seen only have a slot for a memory card, and/or a USB connector for transferring the photos to onboard storage.

Do you happen to have an old unused PC laptop?

I have seen this in regards to connecting via USB.....DisplayLink

I do have a 12 in iBook but I'm not interesting in ScreenRecycle...if that's what you are leading too... http://www.screenrecycler.com/home.html

I want something like this that is adjustable but in a 10 in size....

I'm not sure how DisplayLink would help with a photo frame. The photo frame would still need video input of some type.

There are many small LCD displays of that size that are intended for car installation. They often connect over VGA at 800x600 or 1024x768.

[for example|http://cgi.ebay.com/8-VGA-TFT-LCD-Touch-Screen-Monitor-for-Car-PC-GPS-U 3 W0QQitemZ220388997996QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Input_Peripherals?hash=item2203889979 96&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&trkparms=72%3A1240%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A4% 7C294%3A50]

Yeah I've seen those....but there are some sleeker looking digital photo frames out there that would look better on my desk....

If I understand it right DisplayLink works via USB so aslong as there is a USB port on the Digital Photo Frame it can be used as a additional monitor.

found this....

http://www.everythingusb.com/samsung-spf-105p-digital-photo-frame-15850.html

this shows a Mac Mini running a Samsung SPF-105P 10" but it also states "the Mac drivers available from DisplayLink did not work"...scroll down to the section named "Photo Frame as UbiSync USB Monitor"
