Please fix behaviour on pressing Escape and implement undo

Not for the first time I've accidentally pressed the Escape key while composing a message. Not only does everything I've typed disappear, WHY?, but my non-empty draft is replaced with an empty one. Again, WHY? It's also perfectly possible to support multi-level undo on a text box in a web-page but not to support even a single level seems unnecessarily restrictive.

Internet Explorer 6.0.2 on XP also has this behavior. It appears to be a behavior of certain Windows web browsers when encountering Jive forums. I agree it is annoying. It is a good reminder as always to backup your data frequently. You can copy your content into the copy/paste buffer in case of accidental escape presses, or paste the content into a wordpad or notepad for later pasting. Click on the Save Now button below so the information gets at least stored somewhere.

Please do not blame Apple, as key stoke actions in Windows and Internet Explorer are a decision made by Microsoft. Apple makes similar decisions on key strokes for Mac OS, Safari and other Apple-designed software. Perhaps there is a key stroke combination in Windows that does an identical function as the Escape key in Mac OS and Safari? Or maybe there is a utility that will let you program a function key to do it?

Ah, brody makes a good point that it might be Jive interpretation problem. If so, then perhaps a way to mimic the Apple Esc function in Windows might be the answer.
