Skype on Ipod Touch

So how does this work? Does the new Ipod Touch have a built-in mic too? I know it has built in speakers..

macbook core 2 duo, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

The IPT G2 is microphone-capable, but no built-in mic like the iPhone. You need a microphone such as one included with a new Apple earphone/mic combo.

I have just bought an ipod Touch, I have downloaded Skype app. Now I am looking for headset or earphones with microphone. so ithat I can make phone call
I would be grateful if you advise me to the ones that would be suitable

well that maybe a problem because I purchased the apple earphone with mic from an apple store today.

i downloaded skype onto my IPT 2G and when I logged in and called the skype test call profile there was a popup that said no microphone.

Patrick, have you tried anything yet to troubleshoot the problem? I'd be interested because my son has a touch and we've been entertaining the idea of trying Skype.

where are you?
if you are in Canada searching for it it will not be there as a CRTC regulation prohibits Skype in Canada

The Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic work great with my 2G touch. I just finished a 15 minute call with a friend in Norway. (Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get a good connection.)
