Macbook pro protection, Bags and Sleeve recommendations

I gambled on a Crumpler Gimp 15" Wide and it works a treat and looks the biz. Is very tight fit width wise and needs to be pulled into place to zip it up, but the material is quite stretchy and once zipped it protects the MBP perfectly.

I just bought a Macbook Pro and I bought the Incase Neoprene Sleeve 17 in. It is a very nice sleeve and has a good deal of padding. It has a very soft interior and fits the Pro perfectly. I have never owned any sleeve cases before but this one is very awesome in my opinion.

I use the Incase Nylon Sleeve Plus. Works great and has good storage for power supply and btooth mouse that I carry with me.

I keep my 15 UMBP in an incase sleeve and then place inside incase nylon sling in order to transport. I need extra protection and ease of transport as I have been on crutches for over half a year!

I just bought the Incase Nylon sling bag online this weekend. Do you think it will be able to fit my Macbook Pro 17 inch with the Incase sleeve inside the sling bag?
I'm really hoping so, because I want the most protection for it. I can't wait till I get it this week.

I've been using Booq Vyper's since they introduced them. My new MacBook Pro unibody does not fit the vyper that my powerbook G4 used (the unibody is wider), so I just got a new Vyper M3. The Booq vyper is excellent protection - sturdy, well made and perfectly fitted. Slip it into any backpack, messenger bag, or shoulder bag and you're set.

I'm not sure if a 17inch UMBP inside the Incase sleeve will then fit in Incase Nylon sling. Mine is 15 inch UMBP. Can you try it out at a Apple store? Make sure you can return if not! Let me know how it works out.

Thanks,the closest mac store to me is about 3hours away, so there is no chance of me getting to try it out first. It is coming to my house ok weds.so I'll get to try it then. Hopefully it does fit. I was planning on using it as my new college bag,and wanted the extra protection the sleeve could offer. I will post when I receive it to let you know how it works. Thanks again.

Ok I received my Incase sling bag this morning. I tried putting the UMBP in the sleeve and then in the sling. It fit ** very tight, when I tried to take it out however the case would not come out. It must be the friction between the sleeve and the faux fur inside the bag. Any how I'll use the bag when I need to go somewhere and take all the accessories with me or when I go to class and use the sleeve for protection at home and then if I just need to take my laptop out. Thanks again for all the help. Btw the Incase Sling bag is very very nice!

I'm glad you are happy with the sling bag. I have noticed people just placing inside sling bag without the sleeve. Its probably sufficient for what your using for. I just needed extra padding while I was on crutches incase I fell! Just one caveat. I think the bag just screams there is an expensive notebook inside. Try to keep it with you like I do and just be careful. Don't leave it inside your car on the seat while you are shopping at the mall!
