WACOM drawing tablet

Without giving students access to the full panel of System Preferences, how do you go about allowing permission for them to access a WACOM drawing tablet control panel to set its prefs? The tablet works only in mouse mode when they login. When I test allowing permission to sys prefs through their login using Run Full Finder, the tablet device is not seen as being attached. Any help is appreciated.
