Can I setup wifi through an aircard?

Hi - please forgive me if this is not in the right forum.

I live in a place where I cannot get cable, DSL or FIOS. So I connect to the Internet through an aircard (using Sprint aircard service for a monthly fee). It plugs into a USB port, so only one computer can be online.

Does anyone know if I can setup wifi in my house with this aircard so that more than one computer could be online at once?

Thank you for any comments.

Kindest regards,
spncity

Hi spncity,

After our chat in the Bluetooth forum, I've had a further thought...

Your Macbook has wi-fi built-in, so you may be able to share the internet connection from the Aircard to other computers via the wi-fi in your MacBook.

Open the Sharing system preferences pane, and check the box alongside *Internet Sharing*.

Then in the *Share your connection from:* pop-up, choose the connection for your Aircard.

Then under *To computers using:* check Airport.

This should allow your MacBook to act as a Wi-fi router for other wi-fi enabled devices.

(If your other computers don't have wi-fi, you might be able to do the same thing, but for computers using Ethernet or Firewire with the appropriate cable between the two computers.)
