Sticky Iphone, cleaning Iphone?

I was at a restaurant a couple of days ago, and had my Iphone between my legs, and as I reached for my Ice tea and took a sip the glass was too full and some of it splashed down on my Iphone, I took it out of the case, and wiped it with paper towels, but still have the protective screen on it,
Yesterday it seems ok, but the home key is sticky.
Im just wondering what I can use to clean my Iphone so it's not so sticky but that wont damage the phone as well, like I cant just clean my phone with water, and should I take my screen protection on or take that off as well
