Putting DVDS on the ipod
Hi, i would just like to know, how does one put dvds and movies onto the ipod??
Toshiba, Windows XP Pro, Laptop

To elaborate a bit on Pamela's answer... In order to copy a DVD, you'd need to break the encryption which, in the U.S., is illegal. Therefore, the terms of use of these forums prohibit discussion of software or methods. Sorry.
just buy movies from the itunes store, they have a huge selection of movies and same day releases. btw downloading dvds is in fact illegal.
downloading dvds is illegal, but buying them from a shop isn't. most people who want to know how to put their dvds onto their ipods have bought them from shops legally.

In the U.S., there is no legal way to do that. Commercial DVDs are encrypted and breaking that encryption is illegal in the U.S. U.S. based forum, U.S. rules.
The U.K./E.U. may be different.
i know that meg (i don't know about the UK laws, i don't have any need for it) i was just saying that the legality of downloading dvds isn't actually the problem here.
I got mine and was able to "import" my dvd's from my computer to the itouch BUT my computer since crashed and the new updated verison doesnt show "import" command.
Does anyone else know a way around that?
