passwords for rar files

i am using 'unrar' to open rar archives.

i found it in the downloads area of the apple site here, and it has been working just fine.

recently though i have downloaded some archives which are password protected.

when selected unrar doesn't pause for the password, it fires up, runs for a while and exits leaving an empty folder where the unpacked files should be.

is there an easy to use unrar application (other than stuffit) that someone can recommend which can handle password protected archives.

I've got one I downloaded from the apple website. it's unrarx version 2.2. it has a password button in the upper right corner.

unRarX can open password protected rars. there is a password button at the top left of the unrar window. if it doesn't work I would suspect that the rar file is damaged.

I use RarMachine. It does what you want and it can also password-protect your own compressed .rar files if you need to.
