Linking mono tracks as stereo in Logic 8

Hello all,

How do I link two mono tracks containing the left and right side of a stereo recording so that changing parameters on one of them affects both? If memory serves me I used to do this by putting the mono files on say track 1 and 2 and selecting "stereo" on both using the input format button below the channel strips' volume meters. Then the right channel would read something like "controlled by audio channel 1". Is this feature removed in later versions or am I just missing something? Any help is much appreciated. /marcus

To do this you have to switch universal track mode off, then pressing the stereo button on the odd numbered tracks creates a stereo track between them and the even numbered tracks.

Please could we do away with universal track mode, but have the means to select true stereo tracks or linked stereo tracks. The fact that universal track mode is and was not a song/project preference is/was a right pain.

If anybody has any other suggestions how to mix and match true stereo with linked stereo then let us know. As long as the solution does not involve using bus routing ( there is no latency comp on those pre 7)
