New iMac and Firewire

My new iMac has one 800 firewire port. I have a new hard drive connected to it via a firewire cable. (800 to 800)
How do I then connect my camera? (Canon GL2) Should I daisy chain them, connecting the camera to the HD and the HD to the computer? I have a second 800 port on the HD, so I'd need an 800 to 4-pin. Is there such an animal?
Or, should I get a firewire hub?

You could try daisy-chaining, though Canon camera often have problems with another device on the same bus. Do not use a hub. Yes there are 9-pin to 4-pin cables.

Woohoo! Got my cable. I had to connect the GL2 directly to the Mac for it to recognize it. Thanks!

Do you mean you can't have the external HD connected whilst capturing?

If that is the case you will have to capture onto your internal HD and then transfer it to the external.

This should be no great problem as the transfer of a whole tape should take well under 10 minutes.
