Python Process 100% CPU Usage

Ok, this problem has been driving me mad for a while now...I've scoured the internet to no avail, so I'm turning here. This is probably an easy problem for someone to fix, but I'm stumped. Here's the deal...upon rebooting, no matter what account I initially log in with, Activity Monitor shows a process called "Python" running at near 100% of the CPU. I've investigated Python to the best of my ability (I know what it is, just not what is causing it to launch and stay open). Apparently this instance of Python is a child of the "Launchd" process, both of which are owned by root. When I kill Python, all is well...until the next reboot, where it starts up and eats up my CPU. I deleted python.framework from the System folder, and all was well, but I'm pretty sure I'll need this in the future, so this isn't a fix in my book.

The system in question is a new Unibody MacBook running 10.5.6. I used Migraton Assistant to copy my files to the machine from an older machine (and no, that machine does not suffer from the Python issue). I've tried downloading the combo update and reinstalling it, but it won't run for some reason. I tried downloading and installing Python 2.6 (2.5 is on the system) and that doesn't help. I've repaired permissions, cleaned system files with Cocktail and Onyx, all to no avail. The ONLY thing that causes this to stop is deleting the Python.Framework.

If anyone can help, I'd be quite appreciative. I know SOMETHING is calling Python, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is!

Hi,

Do you use any Mail plug-ins of any kind? They're often python-based.
Also, some BitTorrent clients are coded with python.
