Replacing Pocket Quicken on iPhone.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with any of the below software except for being an end user.

I have read a few articles of people wanting to figure out how to replace Pocket Quicken. Well here you go from my experience.

I was in the same boat. I had a Palm Treo for over 10 years and was set with Pocket Quicken. I then purchased iPhones for me and my spouse, and decided to search for the new Pocket Quicken for the iPhone. What I found was nothing! After contacting Intuit about Pocket Quicken for the iPhone I found that it was not going to happen anytime soon. Needing a pocket syncing financial program for the iPhone I eventually found what I was looking for at MacWorld.

I looked around and found three programs that put me in the "I no longer care about Quicken" category. In fact I no longer will use any of Intuits products as I have found others that are better then Intuits product line, and that even includes QuickBooks.

I own 2 of the three programs below, DayBank and Cha-Ching. Cha-Ching was worthless in version 1 but version 2 is looking great! DayBank I like, but Cha-Chng has passed them up in features as of late. DayBank is promising a upgrade but I may be set with Cha-Ching due to the feature set being available right now. Cha-Ching 2 is actually Quicken with a AppStore product that is a perfect Pocket Quicken replacement.

The three programs I would like to point out are as follows:

iBank 3 - This will sync with only one iPhone so couples have some issues but does use iDisk on MobileMe to sync - Cool!

DayBank - This will sync (WiFi) with one iPhone but they are trying quickly to bring a multi-sync out.

Cha-Ching 2 - This will sync (WiFi) with multiple iPhones and works well. As of today this works the closets to Pocket Quicken with reconcile.

Well there you go. That has been my experience and I am happy with Cha-Ching now that version 2 is out with their iPhone app. Version 1 of Cha-Ching was a waste of time, but now they got it right. DayBank I will watch closely but their next version really needs to hit it out of the park to come close to Cha-Ching. iBank 3 is used by a friend and he loves it. He also is single and has no need at this time to share his financial info.

So the bottom line is if you are wanting to sync with only one iPhone then check out iBank 3 or DayBank. If you want to sync one or multiple iPhones then Cha-Ching 2 might be what you want to look for in the future.. Good luck to all. Hope that helped..

I would agree. Cha-Ching version 1 had a massive amount of problems. Version 2 has more to offer and is one of the only that can sync 2 or more iPhones via WiFi.

I have heard Pocket Money is a good program as well. I find myself needing the multi-syncing to make sure the family stays on budget. It has been working great with Cha-Ching 2.

I wish any software would make it possible to sync via MobileMe iDisk like iBank 3 but for more then one iPhone. This would be awesome and I could sync while making a purchase and the others in the family could see my chanrges ASAP. Maybe someday.

If any others have any more input please do not hesitate to reply.

Pocket Money has a sync app that allows you to push up transactions to it's application. They are put in a downloads folder as QIF files (OFX is coming soon). You can then import that into your desktop application. So it isn't really "sync" per se, but I don't want to have a full sync either. I just want to move new transactions up to the desktop.
