Port forwarding for Xbox Live problem

I've been going potty figuring this out. I have connected my xbox to Live finally through my macbook pro's internet sharing (via airport and ethernet cable). Though I connect ok I have a STRICT NAT problem. After extensive reading I figured that I am supposed to forward ports 88,3074 on my router. I can't figure out how to do this with my Dlink 802C modem. My main problem is which IP to forward the ports to. I need to forward the ports using Aiport Utility. Could anyone please tell me which IP address should I use?

ps. my xbox shows an IP of 192.168.x.x while in the port forwarding section of airport I can only add in a 10.0.1.x IP. 😟

ferzad, Welcome to the discussion area!

Unfortunately your MacBook Pro is acting as a router. There is no way to configure OS X's internet sharing to forward ports.

AirPort Utility is only for configuring Apple's base stations... not OS X's internet sharing.

There is no way to do what you want to do.

You need to get a real wireless router instead of using your MacBook Pro.

Thanks for the prompt reply Duane. Just to clarify: I need another wireless router? I thought airport express was one. I was trying to configure the ports of the airport express's basestation. My connection system is:

-An ADSL 2mbps connection that comes into my home from a phone line and into a D-link GLB 802C modem
-This connects to an Airport Express
-My macbook pro uses the net through the wifi signal provided
-I connect the macbook pro to the xbox through an ethernet cable (mainly because it's far from the adsl router)

I have read that one can forward ports with airport express...

So you have the MacBook Pro receiving the wireless signal from the AirPort Express (AX) and then sharing it via Ethernet to the Xbox? If so that is your problem. I thought that you were doing it a little bit different but the problem is the same.

OS X's internet sharing can not be configured to forward ports.

You need to get a wireless adapter for the Xbox. Then you would need to map/forward the ports on the AX to the Xbox.
