Managing Fonts

I accidently copied a file of mac fonts into my main font folder. Now it takes and word processing program that accesses the fonts FOREVER to load because it has to go through all these fonts. How do I return to the standard list of fonts or correct it so most of these new fonts are "disabled?"

Charles, here's the standard list of fonts for Tiger:

Although written for Panther, it applies to Tiger, as well.
